In the past, the only option for straightening teeth was to have a mouth full of metal wires. Though effective, this method had its drawbacks, not just for being unsightly, but for being uncomfortable and challenging to manage by a dentist. Today, there is another option available in ClearCorrect. Schedule your visit for ClearCorrect today!
ClearCorrect aligners are made of a strong plastic material. They are multilayered and are virtually invisible. The aligners are custom-made and fit snugly over the teeth. Each set of aligners is slightly different, as the goal of the Invisalign treatment is to gradually nudge the teeth into their new position until the final straightened smile is achieved.
ClearCorrect can be used to treat a variety of dental issues, such as overbite, underbite, open bite, and crossbite. It can also address gapped teeth and overly crowded teeth. The aligners offer an advantage over traditional wire braces aesthetically and also for being lower maintenance. Not only are the aligners inconspicuous when being worn, but they are removable, which means that it’s easier to: clean them; eat while going through the treatment; and maintain a regular oral health care routine of brushing and flossing.
To begin the ClearCorrect treatment, a consultation is first needed, during which the ClearCorrect specialist will create a customized plan for the new smile. Measurements of the teeth will be taken so that the aligners can be created. The patient will generally wear a new set of aligners every week, following the plan set out by Dr. Vlada Matytsin. The aligners must be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day for the treatment to have an effect, and visits to the dentist in will be needed about every six weeks to check on the progress of the smile. The length of treatment depends on the patient – whether they are an adult or teen, and the severity of the case. The average length of treatment is 12 months (for adults), at the end of which a retainer is recommended to keep the teeth from shifting back to their former positions.
